Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Mali to Canada (2020 – 2024)

Her Excellency Mrs. Fatima Braoulé Méïté is a Malian diplomat and politician recognized for her commitment to development, governance and human rights.

Ambassador of the Republic of Mali to Canada and Permanent Representative to the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) from 2020 to October 2024, she played a key role in strengthening bilateral relations between Mali and Canada, as well as in promoting Mali's interests on the international stage.

At the national level, she was Municipal Councillor of Commune II of the District of Bamako (2009-2014) and President of the Network of Elected and Political Women for Participatory Democracy (REMAFEDE) (2010-2014), where she campaigned for greater participation of women in politics and governance.

A graduate of the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) and Stony Brook University (SUNY at Stony Brook), SEM B. Méïté holds a master's degree in business administration and a double degree in business and sociology.

Her experience includes leading roles as Technical Advisor at the Governance Unit of the Presidency of Mali (2014-2019) and Chargé de Mission at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (2011-2013). Founder of Nova Consulting, she supports strategic projects in governance and development.

A woman of vision and action, Ms. Méïté continues to defend international cooperation and social progress, embodying excellence and commitment to serving her country and the African continent.
